[bksvol-discuss] Re: Open Library, was Re: Re: curious about Latest books

Hi, Roger, I think you must be right on the book I downloaded. It
wouldn't open and it asked for a password. I also tried transferring it
via Humanware Companion to a 8GB thumb drive. Again, the Humanware
Companion couldn't see the book. There must be something wrong with it.
Heigh-ho! Better luck next time, eh? Regards, Kim.

Latest books

Kim, I just tested an Open Library protected Daisy book for you. Just in

case something had happened to them since the last time I downloaded one
I
went there and downloaded and unzipped one myself. Here is the URL for
it in
case you are interested:
http://openlibrary.org/books/OL24769406M/The_ultimate_balloon_book/daisy
I
chose it pretty much at random. I did a search for the key phrase
"protected
Daisy" and since the first page of results was filled with those
classics
with too many editions for me to sift through for the protected Daisy
one, I
went to the address field on my browser and tacked onto the end of the
address the additional refinement of "&page=2000." That book was near
the
top of page 2000. I downloaded it and unzipped it without any problem at

all. In order to read it I would have had to transfered it to my Stream
and
since I was uninterested in reading it I did not go that far. So it
seems to
be working okay. If you cannot get the one you are dealing with to unzip
my
guess is that you have a corrupted file and you should download it and
try
again. If it still won't unzip then try downloading another book and see
if
that works.
