Hi, Sue. Yes, laptops do have adapters to recharge the battery. It would be nice if they did get at least a little more life before you had to recharge. If I had another battery in there, I suspect it wouldn't be quite as bad, but I'm grateful for what I do have. Take care. Is there an adapter with which to do that? Just wondering. My Dell just has the one slot for a battery. Maybe it's time to get a super light weight model which would have much better battery life. The Dell 9100 is basically a full blown desktop in a laptop. I can sit anywhere in my apartment with my computer. I could even take outside and still get a signal, but I haven't done that yet. I recommend the wireless life to all. Kasondra Payne
