Yes, my favorite was the 1993 grand prize winner. It's difficult for me to read the entire sentence, it's so atrocious. The contest started out 25 years ago with having one winning sentence and a few runner-ups, but as more and more people submitted their sentences, they made categories - worst opening sci-fi sentence, worst western, worst romance, etc. - but they still have one grand prize winner who, by the way, receives a "pittance" for his/her hard work. It's actually fairly difficult to write a truly horrible sentence. There are a couple of books about the contest and its winning sentences for sale at amazon.com for under a dollar. I'll pick them up and put them in the collection. There's another book with more contest results selling for $60, which I'll pass on. No idea why there's such a discrepancy in price. I think they'd be winners. Cindy - ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a vacation? Get great deals to amazing places on Yahoo!
