I recently found out about a brief survey, for users and potential users
of the optacon. Catherine Thomas is conducting the surveys, with the hope
that the results may encourage funding for the manufacture of optacons, or
of critical parts. Even with the modern technology, the optacon can still
play an important role, such as providing information about the format of
books prior to scanning.
Please do not reply to this message on list. If you are interested in
either the survey for optacon users, or the one for potential users, please
