[bksvol-discuss] OT: Jordan's Ordering (was Re: Re: books out of order)

Robert Jordan wrote some of his series books out of order? I am curious about that. Not disputing you, since I don't know that he didn't, just would like to know the specifics. Are you talking about the Wheel of Time books, or the Conan books, or another series I haven't heard of?

Thanks.

Evan

Another one would be that the author wrote them out of order. A few authors where this comes to mind are Robert Jordan, Bernard Cornwell, W.E.B. Griffin, Louis L'Amour, and many, many books in the Star Wars saga. Does that mean that someone who submits books out of sequence can't be a perfectionist, or that they can be patient?

Perhaps I'm just too much of a perfectionist. If I see a series I want to read, I don't submit them to bookshare or anywhere else until I can get my hands on the first book of a series, if that series is best read in order, such as the sword of truth series I cited in my original message.
I just wondered, is all.

It is called,

1. What books are available to them.

most libraries don't have an entire series of books.

2. Maybe they read those earlier in the series from another accessible
source like Web Braille and NLS. but now they want to fill in where NLS has
stopped.

Ok, I don't understand this. This is not a criticism, just a matter of
curiosity. But why do people submit books in the middle of a series if
bookshare doesn't have the books previous to that one in the series?
Let's take sword of truth for instance. As far as I know, we have all ten
books on there. But let's say we didn't. MOst likely somebody would submit
book 6 first, lol. WHat kind of thinking goes into that decision?

I have just submitted Nip, Tuck, Dead which is book 5
in the Pauline Sokol mystery series.

I know Bookshare does not have the first four books so
I will try to see about getting those as well.

They are really good mystery books, similar to the
Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. If you like
Ranger, you'll like Jagger.

Ex-nurse-turned-insurance fraud investigator Pauline
Sokol's willing to risk anything to put a bad doc out
of business even her best friend Goldie's near perfect
proboscis! Her cross-dressing compadre has agreed to
get his shnozz bobbed so Pauline can pose as his
private nurse and gain entry into Highcliff Manor-a
posh plastic surgery "spa" making an illegal killing
with their repeat clientele.
But when a super-rich "frequent flier" is unexpectedly
widowed-and a receptionist who knows too much is given
the boot . . . off a nearby cliff!- Pauline realizes
she's stuck her own nose into something really nasty.
Despite the pleasant distraction of the hunky Dr.
Neal-and the unexpected appearance of her sexy cohort,
Jagger-Pauline can't shake the feeling she's being
closely watched. And if she's not careful, she'll be
the next one who goes under the knife!
