Sadly, I wish I could extoll a fabled recipe, but after years of experimenting,
Doug and I found we like Bush's canned black-eyed peas with bacon. The trick
for us is in simmering them for an hour or more and we like LOTS of fresh
ground pepper in them. They make great leftovers, so we make a double batch
every time we make them.

Now the cornbread recipe is an original that I shared earlier. The two go
together!
