Hi, Sue. I've gotten behind on my mail but wanted to answer this, since I also have a Dell laptop. Do you have Norton Internet Security on yours, by any chance? I do on this one. Now, for some reason, I don't have to do this, but when I first started using it, I had to disable it so I could upload. I don't know why I can do it now without disabling it, but there it is. <smile> Take care. -- Julie Morales Email & Windows/MSN Messenger: mercy421@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: mercy0421 Please contact me if I may not recognize your contact info before adding me or I may not add you! I wasn't using my head, if I have one. <grin> Speaking of John, he suggested that I post a problem I have in uploading books for admin approval. I have a Dell Notebook and cannot seem to upload books after validating them. I do the usual, limiting the filename to 8 letters or less, I tried zipping it, I deleted my cookies and did the space delete trick, and still cannot upload a book which is not large enough to be a problem. I recently changed from dial-up on a Gateway Tower to DSL on this laptop. The error messages I get run from none to things like problem copying the file, not a valid RTF file, and it just sits on accept until the page expires. I have tried browsing for the path as well. I enjoy validating if the book is interesting. Any ideas about why I would be having problems on this laptop when I had none on the Gateway Tower? Thanks. John, however, has taken over support duties that take up an incredible amount of time. In other words, if you recall the duties that Peter performed when he worked with Bookshare, John is performing similar duties and has responsibilities that force him to focus on answering user inquiries in a timely manner. Not only does John focus on answering technical questions on this list, but he is responsible for answering all questions that come to him at support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx With Bookshare's growing focus on University memberships and student members, I am certain that John's time is well-spent on areas where he excels a great deal. So many new books have been submitted from, I assume, commercial sources, and you volunteers have been so busy (I say you, because I'm slower and still working on one long but fascinating one) that there are approcxiamtely 275 books waiting for admin approval. If only someone could help Gustavo with that project. And 350 awaiting validation. And, for those of you who like statistics, 143 on the rejected list. Some of those look really good; the one on the top would be good to have for Christmas. Mabe some of you who like to scan could scan some of the rejected books. Jake, is there any way to tell when those books were rejected? If they were rejected some time ago and haven't been rescanned, then that would support my argument that having someone like me validate and fix it, even if it takes a while, would be better than outright rejection.
