Hi, Carrie, many thanks. My proofing isn't stalled and I'm on to the last
story. I'm thinking I should get a list of scanos so I can be absolutely
sure. I've caught stuff that made me think "that doesn't make sense" then
thought of what the word might be, often coming on it because of the context
of the sentence. Anyhow, I'm having a great time proofreading this book and
having a good read all at the same time. I thought it would take longer.

Hi, I'm proofreading a book called Regency Christmas Eve by Nancy Butler,
Diane Farr, Allison Lane, Edith Layton, and Barbara Metzger. I'm having
trouble in "The Gift of the Spoons" beginning on p. 147 (not counting
prefatory material). I need to know for sure the male protagonist's last
name. Is it Heme or Herne? If somebody can look at the text then I'd know
for sure what is correct. Then I could do a find-and-replace for it. Regards
