Hi Roger!

Perhaps the person who hoped it would help when giving advice wasn't sure if it was the right information or just wasn't sure if the explanation given by the poster was explaining it in a manner that was detailed enough for the person asking the question, since there are people with all levels of computer knowledge on a list.

I am a bit of an illiterate in computerese abbreviations myself, but I did find out what HTH meant when I became curious after seeing it at the end of so many emails that I finally googled it. Still though, it seems kind of unnecessary whether it is abbreviated or not. If one did not hope the advice helped then what would be the point of offering it? Not defensively, but just an aside. For many non-typists (like myself) due to physical disability, computer shorthand is a time and energy saver, although we should never assume others know the lingo.

Take care!

Hi Kim!

I don't go wild on the computer shorthand either.

Hi, Debby, Kim here. HTH is a shortcut way of saying "hope that (or this)
helps". I personally prefer to write what I want to say without resorting to
such computer shorthand. Regards, Kim.

Hi Lynnsky!

You must have had the page that Melissa had, because we had the same
experience with the combo box and play button after I followed Melissa's
link. Thanks for your help by describing yur experiences. It showed we
were on the same page, both litterally and figuratively.

What does HTH mean? I have seen it in a few messages including yours.
