Hi everyone. A new book has been added to the Bookshare collection today called Loud Proud and Passionate: Including Women with Disabilities in International Development Programs. It's title sounds formal to me, like maybe a textbook you'd have to read for a class. I was new here and wanted to help clear out some of the older scans, and I started validating it with the expectation of being bored silly. I couldn't have been more wrong. I am writing to encourage each of you to consider reading at least the first 4 chapters of the book. While we may each have our own perspectives on disabilities, this book did open my eyes to some things I never knew or thought much about. It has also reminded me that I do have the ability to help both myself and my less fortunate disabled peers. My view of my blindness is changing now in some important and positive ways. I stand a little taller now, and I feel confident that the living conditions for all people with disabilities can improve. I hope it will inspire you as it has for me.
