Liz, I have done that before and really didn't miss anything. I'm tempted. Bob"We know the future will outlast all of us, but I believe that all of us will live on in the future we make,"

I have just returned from an unplanned week away. Over 600 emails on this list. I am just flat-out deleting all. If there was anything important anyone thinks I should know, please repost to me privately. Thank you! Fine Reader and 5 others I think. I sometimes have to try all of them to determine which one works best on a particular book. According to the OB documentation OmniPage three way is supposed to actually provide the over all best, but I've found that sometimes Fireworks works better for me. I've tried playing with the brightness settings, but in the end I always go back to either auto or normal. The other thing is it seems like the first 50 pages or so are the most difficult. For some reason I often have to rescan several just to get a certain word or phrase to scan right. after that it goes much better. Part of that may be getting to where the print shows better near the spine of the book. I also open Word in OB and scan directly into Word. I do this because otherwise I can't get away from every line having a paragraph break. Scanning directly into Word gets around most of that. I know they are two different programs but surely they work about the same. Go as high as 60 just my thoughts. I have the latest version of open book on a laptop so if you need any more suggestions just ask. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amber" <amberanddottie@xxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, September 11, 2009 10:33 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Question about scanning with openbookyes but I am not sure where to set it, Amber.
