When I optimize, I do it as the two page scan as that gives me better idea of centers and margins. Then I save the optimization as the author or shortcut title. I usually have a few books in process at one time, and often they have different settings. So if I have to go back and rescan a page of Green's book, I have saved a setting of Green.ost. (.ost is the ending KES puts on settings automatically.) If I need to re-do a page of Viorst, I have a setting saved of viorst.ost. When redoing a page, I load that book's settings. When the book is finally approved and accepted by Bookshare, I delete that setting. Worked for me so far! I love the optimization application. It takes some time, but it's worth it. Most of the time that will give you good scans.
