Hi Shannon,
The thing that you want to do is to down arrow in the scan
menu until you hear it say "optimize scanning" this will also
optimize recognition settings, and if you save those settings,
assuming they give you results that you like, you won't need to
retain images in your file, because the scan will be good enough that
you won't need to rerecognize. So, long answer short, use the
optimize scanning feature. That does also optimize recognition
settings as well, so you're doing both at once.
Any more questions, just ask. No problem. We all need to ask
questions, some of us, (me in particular) need to ask lots of questions.
