I filled out the questionnaire and sent it in via e-mail. That's what the page said was the alternative way to register; so I'll see what happens. If that doesn't work I'll take your suggestion and write directly.

You can write an e-mail to volunteer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and explain that you want
to become a volunteer. Hopefully this bug that prevents members from signing
up on the web will be fixed in the near future.
