I suspect that most people who just want the credit
submit rather than validate, even doing the minimum. A
submitter gets $2.50 but, as Julie points out,
validators only get 50 cents--something many of us
feel is unfair and have been asking for the credits to
be more equalized. Those who submit just for the
credit rarely do any kind of pre-validation. Some
don't seem to realize that they won't get the credits
if their books are rejected and are not approved.
Others possibly--I don't know--may minimally validate
their own books so they will be approved and they will
get credit. That's a possible explanation for why
there are so many Fair books, and/or Excellent- or
Good-rated books that turn out to be Fair or Poor in
actuality.
