I think Evan is right; I think one time I did have a macro to move page numbers 
to the top. I had totally forgotten about that since I scan differently now 
than I did back then. I did post directions on how to make the macro so they 
should be in the archive. I remember it had to be a series of macros, one for 
each number.

My memory may be deceiving me on this, but I could swear that Jamie Yates
created and posted here quite some time ago a Word macro that would do that job.
I didn't have a use for it, and I don't use Word much anyway, so I
didn't preserve it. But she was on the list posting recently, so perhaps she
will see this and repost it. That may be what you need to do what you want.
However, it may just insert those page numbers that can't be read outside of
Word, which would make it useless for Bookshare books. I'm sure she would
know the answer to  that.
