He stripped the garbled headers manually. The numbers are at the bottom of the page. He only put in the headers to protect the chapter titles. He figured since the tool requires consistency, he created a macro to put the header on every page. But in this case it didn't work so well.

As far as this series, I would read the first 3 books and read the legends and second Generation and only then read Dragons of Summer Flame. If you read Dragons of Spring dawning and then read Dragons of Summer Flame you feel a little lost because quite a lot happens between these 2 books. Dragons of Summer Flame was written quite a while after the chronicles and should not be considered part of the Chronicles.
BTW, Rob will be submitting Dragons of Winter Night shortly. The legends are not on Bookshare. He plans to scan them as well.

If he stripped the headers in the kes file didn't the page numbers get removed as well. I know the kes header remover generally removes numbers along with the headers.

Hi E:

You said that you're stripping the headers manually as you read. Is that for your own purposes or to resubmit? Because if you're planning to resubmit, don't bother. Rob has the original kes file with the headers completely stripped. It was only the RTF copy that had all those headers. He can resubmit it.

I am reading the book. I am stripping Autumn and Twilight by hand as I go.

Hi All:

My husband recently submitted a book called Dragons of Autumn Twilight. In order to protect chapter headings he created a macro that placed the title of the book on every page. He figured he'd give the stripper something to munch on. To night I downloaded the book to see how it fared. It appears that the chapter headings are there. However, the puzzling thing is that the stripper only stripped half the title. Dragons of is gone but Autumn Twilight is on every page except for blank pages where the entire title is there. This tool is very inconsistent. Why didn't it strip the entire title? I truly wish that we had the choice whether to or not to apply the stripper. There are times that the stripper even takes off pages that say Part 1, Part 2, etc. I don't know about anyone else, but personally I feel that these things are important. Otherwise the author wouldn't bother to put it in the book.

Grace who is very frustrated with this stripper.
