An Important Announcement From the Friends of Bookshare Sponsor
While we thought it was understood, it appears some clarification is
required so we ask that you please read the following overview carefully.
First, anyone serving as a club leader or making a presentation in any
Friends of Bookshare room does so as a volunteer and serves without
expectation of financial gain or monetary reimbursement for their time,
expertise and/or service. All financial costs of providing the Friends of
Bookshare.org website, the Internet online conferencing software to
maintain the client 24/7 in all rooms, the mailing lists used to publicize
the Friends of Bookshare book clubs, special events, and programs, as well
as the technical staff needed to maintain them are the sole
responsibility of the parent organization The Accessible World. Donations
are not solicited in any of the sponsor's promotional material.
For these reasons, all participation in Friends of Bookshare projects,
including book clubs, is absolutely free to everyone and must remain free.
No one should ever be asked to pay fees to Friends of Bookshare volunteer
leaders or to the sponsoring organization, the Accessible World. Any costs a
leader feels would enhance the goal of the club or project should be made
known to the Accessible World.
The sponsor of Friends of Bookshare is proud to be just a tiny part of the
thousands of dedicated volunteers who have been supporting for many years
the building of a wonderful book collection for those who are blind.
