Some of them there beans sound pretty darned gross, and it didn't improve my
desire to get involved with Pottermania.

I might like to try the chocolate frogs, but I don't think I'd be brave
enough to try the Every Flavor Beans! I'd be afraid I'd actually get sick on
the things! I think I'll stick to regular jelly beans!

Christopher is 22 and has described hiimself as a geek (as am I) so the two
of us had a great time validating the book in the wee hours of the morning.

My friend Joan (another big HP fan) and I went to 3 release parties during
the evening. The first was at a local bookstore where there were about 500
people. The Stanford Band played for a half hour for everyone. They're always
fun to watch. That bookstore had hats, wands, scarves, brooms, pendants,
action figures, quill pens, and other Potter stuff for sale. We also went to a
Borders bookstore, and then to a children's bookstore, Linden Tree Books, where
Christopher got the Bookshare copy. They sold HP7 to him at a discount, which
was very nice of them! The city where Linden Tree Books is (Los Altos) blocked
off their main street, put up a large screen, and showed HP and the Sorcerer's
Stone from 9:15 to 11:55. 200 people watched the movie, walked to the
bookstore, picked up their copies, and headed home.

I bought some Bertie Bott's Beans earlier in the day, with 20 different
flavors (like soap, dirt, bacon, earthworm, vomit, etc). They REALLY do taste
like their flavors.

Anyway, it was a wonderfully fun day! Hope everyone has downloaded their
copies and is now busily reading away.

Gee, Carrie, that is phenomenal, that you and Christopher could get HP on
the site so quickly! I remember that Christopher is Lisa's son. How old is
he? It is fantastic that he was interested in helping. Have a good sleep!!!
You deserve it!!!!!

I apologize for the errors. I started out being very persnickety but
after a couple of hours, I was so tired and out of it that I zoomed through the
rest of the book pretty fast. I'll go back and fix the errors later. Sorry!

And so far, it's a beautiful scan. I've gotten through chapter five, and I

might have seen two or three errors. Maybe.

I just want to thank Carrie, and whoever else was responsible for getting

Harry Potter 7 up in such a timely fashion. I just downloaded it, and will

      begin shortly.
