Hi, Bob, I think that whatever works for a particular person is great,
especially if the book is really clean. I like to make sure that there
are no scannos and if I'm not sure about the text and I'm corresponding
with the submitter, he/she gets bombarded periodically with progress
reports so whoever submitted the file knows I'm doing something. I'll
also copy snippets of text and send it to him/her with the question: "Is
this really supposed to be on p. ... line ...?" Or I'll ask what a word
is. (I usually put the words in question in brackets and I usually get
responses, much to my delight or chagrin. I really hate it if the author
uses a word wrongly. (Is monitory a word?) Anyhow, if it's in the text,
I have to leave it, even though I know in my gut the author must have
meant to write (You get the picture) ... Enough said. Regards, Kim
Friedman.

You bet it's great to have a choice.

It's funny how we work with a book: you saying "I would never do it that

way", and me saying "this method is better than sliced bread." And
suddenly
we each turn out a near perfect book for other bookshare patrons to
read.

Just early morning musings.

Hi Bob,

I use Word for spellchecking of every book I proof. Isn't it nice that
we have a choice?

Hope things are well with you!
