Thanks, Debbie. I'll get some sighted help as soon as somebody comes who
will do it.

Hi Kathy!

I checked my Word 2000 help, which is probably similar to Word 2003, and
here is what it said about toolbars that you can do if you can see the
screen or get sighted help.

Move a toolbar
Drag the move handle
Left edge of a docked toolbar
  on a
docked toolbar
, or drag the title bar on a
floating toolbar
to another location. If you drag the toolbar to the edge of the program
window or
to a location beside another docked toolbar, it becomes a docked toolbar.
Note
When you move a docked toolbar, the move might affect the location and
size of
other toolbars in the same row.

Or, since you say that your tool bar used to not get in the way when you
first installed Word, you might want to try uninstalling Word, restarting
your machine, and then reinstalling Word.
