Paper clips also put wrinkles in the paper, which I don't like.

Ah, post it notes, work great. They tell you exactly what page you left off
of, can be removed when necessary and can be reused.

The problems with paper clips for me, is that I forget which side of the
page i was on, smile. Which is solved with the post it notes.

I usually reuse them until the glue wears out.

Hi Meka and list. I put a paper clip on the last page I've scanned when I
stop. The clip stays in when I close the book and move it. A second-best
plan is to put a piece of paper into the book but paper sometimes falls out
when moving the book. Hope that helps.
