Having known Gustavo for a few years, I can say that he really was a
wonderful person, with a quick, dry sense of humor. He was taken from us at
far too young an age (39). The Bookshare office is usually a happy place, but
last year it was pretty quiet for weeks after his death.

Today is the anniversary of Gustavo's Death. Although I didn't know him
well, I always looked forward to his e-mails regarding updates on the site. In
2006 I wrote a news article about bookshare and Gustavo helped me do research
for it. Even though I never met him in person, I feel honored to have known him
and that he has contributed to the site in such a wonderful way.
