The good news is that I finished validating and
uploaded The Edge of the Cloud, the second book in
K.M. Peyton's Flambards series. Now if someone would
scan Flambards in Summer and Flambards Divided, we'd
have the complete series. The series is set in England
in the beginning of the 20th century, and is geared,
I wold say, to the upper elementary and junior high
age groups. In addition to the story itself, one
learns about class differences, the beginnings of
aeronautics and motoring, and life in the country.
Monica, maybe your girls would be interested in
scanning these. I'd be happy to validate if none of
them wants to. smile

The bad news is that the government copyright office
is apparently only making available on the Internet
their records after 1978. Am I wrong? Has anyone else
checked the site lately? I looked up a book that was
copyrighted in 1969 and it wasn't there. I read the
new information on the page twice, and unless I'm
missing something, one will have to call or write, or
go to the copyright records room, to search prior to
1978 and perhaps pay a fee.

Let's hope we can "Look Inside" more books at Amazon.

Cindy
