Monica,
I believe Openbook can in fact retain images. If I'm not mistaken, the
option that needs to be enabled is something like Keep Exact View, and it is
located in the scanning settings dialog box. Well, I might even be wrong
about the exact location, but I am pretty sure of its existence.

Hi, Kelly. Thanks for explaining. I do understand about the problems
with text format. My point has more to do with the fact that Wyn and
Openbook formats are still accepted. Openbook ark files actually do not
retain the images so that the images could be re-recognized at a later
date. I can't speak for Wyn as I have never met anyone who uses it. I
can understand if this is a transition. From the wording on Jake's site,
it appeared that this was the final policy change, the big one we've been
waiting for. That is what I was objecting to so intensely. I also think
that I should apologize for calling some of the books boring. I'm sure
they aren't for the person who scanned them. I will definitely leave them
for another person who finds them more interesting for now. Maybe I'll
feel more like helping with them once I've had some time to read for fun
instead.
