I wouldn't worry about the superscript font. It's a lot of extra work for a
very small gain. What I've sometimes done if it wasn't too difficult was put an
asterisk in front of the superscripted number so everyone can tell that they're
endnotes, or whatever you call those footnotes at the end of the book.
