Sue S. Maybe someone at Bookshare should ask Gustavo's partner what Gustavo would like. What a shock it would have been for his partner to have found him unconscious in the shower! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley L. I loved Gustavo's humor and wit, his pokes at us as the ones harassing him all the time, and I remember all the great times we had at conventions. He was truly an extremely important member of the team at Bookshare and he will be sorely missed. I remember this one time, Guido, Pratik, Louise, Gustavo, Myself and Donna Smith, went to a Greek restaurant in Pittsburgh. Guido had this great one in mind but it was closed, so we went to Cristos instead. I haven't laughed so hard or had such a great time in a long time. Just picture the six of us, Gustavo in the lead, doing sighted guide with Pratik, myself and Louis in the Middle and Donna Smith and her guide dog with Guido going sighted guide bringing up the rear. But we had such a great time talking about all things Bookshare. Including all those nondescript Christian romances that were showing up at that time, and all the other strange books that showed up on the site. it was truly a great smile, great time. He has been an intrigual part of Bookshare since its inception and I remember pestering with questions five years ago when I first joined. he and jessie were the reason I stayed and keep on helping, he encouraged the vision and kept things going. He is definitely going to be missed. Jim, where can we send flowers or cards? Shelley L. Rhodes B.S. Ed, CTVI and Judson, guiding golden juddysbuddy@xxxxxxxxxxxx Guide Dogs For the Blind Inc. Gustavo was the Site Manager for Bookshare.org, and was the foundation of our Bookshare.org team. He was involved in the rapid growth of our collection over the last four years through personally approving each book being added. Gustavo was fierce in his dedication to serving people with print impairments while getting it right, by taking our commitments to publishers and authors seriously. He had a formidable intellect, and his insights, understanding and sense of humor will be sorely missed by our team. We can honor Gustavo's commitment to access and books by doing our best to bring more books to more people with print disabilities around the world.
