Can you send the exact model number of your big old HP to me or the list. Believe me the exact number makes a difference in whether you will get any takers. There are a couple models that might be of value to someone who frequently is trying to scan large books that won't fit on an 8 and 1/2 by 11 inch flat bed scanner, but will fit on the legal sized ones. If it is too old or too slow, or won't allow adjustment of brightness noone is likely to want it. I like my old HP but I wish it was a model from one year later. I also wish I had room for, and could justify the cost of, a second scanner that was just a tad faster and could be used exclusively for scanning small books. Mines okay for scanning at any specific brightness but grey scale takes forever, so I don't want to use it, and I'm happy it's rarely needed. I'm also dreading the day it dies, since I don't suppose they last forever. In the mean time it is treated as though it is sacred. :-)
