[bksvol-discuss] Re: Duplicate On Step 1

Ah, now I understand.

Good idea. I just didn't like the idea of the system deleting one of them without the possibility of human intervention.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Hi,
When submitting, the system would not delete. It would check and if it
finds the same file name, would ask you if you are sure, because it has a
file of the same name.

Thanks.

If the system found duplicate files, which one would it delete?

Hi,
It seems to me that if the system could check for duplicate file names,
that it would be good. Although not a guarantee, that would likely cut
down
on accidental duplicates.

Thanks.

Yes indeed. It's entirely possible to submit duplicates of a file -- in
which case (if you catch the repeat) you'd want to shoot over a note to
let
us know, and we'd go in and remove the duplicate.

Hi Pavi,
Is it possible to submit the same book file twice?

Thanks.

Hi Jim,

There are indeed two submissions of this text -- thanks for pointing out
the duplication.

In such cases, any volunteer who feels inspired to do so, can download
both
versions and check them against each other to determine which is the
higher
quality scan. They can then reject the other and start validation on the
better quality one.

All good things,
