[bksvol-discuss] Re: Download problem

Hi Cindy,
If you're still having problems, would you and anyone else who can help have
time to come into the Community room later? I understand what Bob is
saying, but I'm not sure what's happened on your system. It will help me if
I can talk to you while you're working on this. I've decided that when it
happened to me I must have chosen "open" or something since I can't
reproduce the problem. Or who knows? Not me! <smile.

Anyway, if you want to try and work on this later in "the room," let us
know.

Sorry this is so frustrating!

Yeah, well I should have left well enough alone because now I can't
even *get* to bookshare cause all it wants to do in Windows Explore is
search for something and I can't get it to stop doing that.

Mine is the same way, Cindy. But after I unpack, I see the file name,
and I
can tab past save, cancel, and then I see desktop, but if I press the
down
arrow key I can see other choices of where to put the file. Use the
down
and up arrows to choose where you want the file. Then shift+tab back
to
save and it will go there. I don't mind if it wants to unpack my file
first. (smile)

See, none of this is happening for me.

Hi, When downloading a book from Bookshare, you are first given a
choice
of open or save. If you choose save you are asked for your password
and a
location to save. You must then unpack the book from there. If you
choose
open you are asked for your password and then for the folder where you
wish
to store the book. .
You are asked if you want to open the book now and I say no. you are
then
asked if you want to unpack another book and again I say no.
This is the method I prefer since I can save as mystery, non
fiction,
horror, etc.
Using this method the book is automatically unpacked and stored in the
folder you want.
