Now that you mention it that is true. Nevertheless, I had a very difficult time trying to direct someone to the Victor Stream users list and just recently I ran into the same problem when I tried to let the list know about an email list where there is nothing off topic.

Hmmm, that is strange. I've been posting the newswire for the Science Fiction club to this and the discussion list each month for a couple years now, maybe longer. Those newswires have at least two, usually three, URLs in them. One gives the place of the meeting, the other one or two are links to the book, either on BARD, and/or on Bookshare. Haven't seen a message bounce yet.

As long as you guys are reviewing these lists let me suggest moving it from Free Lists. Free Lists has some characteristics that vex me to no end like, for example, when trying to post a URL Free lists interprets it as an invalid command and bounces the whole message. For the record, I prefer Yahoo groups.

Hello volunteers,

Bookshare is in the process of reviewing the Freelists that we host. They have been around for quite a while and it's high time that we reevaluate their purposes, since as Bookshare grows and changes, our modes of communication and contact must accurately and helpfully reflect that.

In the meantime, please make an effort to keep the discussion applicable to the original point of this discussion list: volunteering with Bookshare. Additionally, don't forget to change the subject lines to reflect your comments and questions. I know this can be difficult to remember to do and can be harder on certain devices than others, but it really is important to keep this list easy for all to navigate.

I will get back to you all with more information as I learn it, but please know that we have been reading all of your comments, criticisms, suggestions, and ideas, and very much appreciate the feedback. Anyone is always welcome to email me directly, too!

Best,
