Thanks for making that important clarification Bob!

And to respond to Devorah -- angle brackets was what Carrie put forward as a 
standardized method. If there is a preference among the volunteers to use 
square brackets instead I don't think she would have a problem with changing 
that at this point -- but ultimately we'd like to put forward one or the other 
as the standard, and not deviate from it.

Those using screen readers will note that their screen reader says "less" 
for the left angle bracket, and "greater" for the right angle bracket.
