Two page mode, as the book fit on the scanner better that way.
You might want to clean the scanner glass and see if it makes a difference.

Or else try 400 dpi as I have done that on occassion, though it slows things
down dramatically.
The font is a little different.

I don't know. I never read your copy. The library finally came up with the
copy I had ordered for myself, 4 months back. I scanned it on a whim. Your
copy is, I assume, as good as it ever was. Did you use 2-page mode or
single?
