Gary,  as I suggested in an other msg,  let K1K eliminate suspicious
regions.  If the process slows down recognition/scanning, do reco in batch
after you scan the entire book.  G.

Two page mode, as the book fit on the scanner better that way.

You might want to clean the scanner glass and see if it makes a
difference.

Or else try 400 dpi as I have done that on occassion, though it slows
things
down dramatically.

The font is a little different.

So.... I have to wonder, what happened to the book from my desk to
Bookshare, as most of what I glanced at read great.

used?  I just took a look at this book for curiosity's sake and found

it

a
horrible scan never exceeding 99.6 and much often lower.  After I went
through the book with rank spelling, I still had 455 errors.
