Hi, Merrill! Sharon's suggestion is probably the best one, and I don't
believe it's considered to be a violation to handle textbooks in this way.
But were you saying that when you do this, it causes the page breaks to be
in the wrong place?

I'd probably place the material together so that it flows more naturally.
It drives me crazy when stuff is picked up several pages later. But then
again, maybe we are not supposed to do so. Sharon
