Hi Cindy Lou and Melissa!

When the smart quotes are turned on, the opening quote leans to the right and 
the closing quote leans to the left to surround it.  It's prettier than 
straight quotes, though I prefer straight quotes, as does the Bookshare tool, 
(smile).
