Page numbers, once stripped, cannot be re-established in any way at all with accuracy. In fact, if the page numbers are stripped, you can't even tell if some pages have been left out or mistakenly erased. You may not like having page numbers, and that is fine, but please let those of us who need them, and need them to be accurate, have them. Removing the page numbers, for those who don't really need them, is very easy, at least in Kurzweil and probably with other software. ----- Original Message ----- From: "The Pardees" <fpardee@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 31, 2005 8:24 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Clarifying the stripper and page number issue for Monday Meeting > Marissa, > I would prefer to have page numbers and headers stripped. > > I believe many people do not realize that page numbers are save in the > Daisy format or with a few minutes work page numbers can be listed as > operator numbers in Kurzweil and Open Book > > > Jim > > > > At 04:19 PM 3/31/05, you wrote: > > >Hi folks, > > > >Let me clarify this for Monday. > > > >You want to have page numbers in the electronic text of the books you > >download as well as in the DAISY tags, yes? > > > >What about running headers and footers? > > > >Do you want them always stripped out? > > > >OR > > > >Do you want the option to strip them out via the unpack tool? > > > >No editorializing or funny business, just tell me if I have your requests > >right. > > > >Marissa > > > >
