I do not remember that discussion. Who said what and when? I would think that if a book has been on the checkout list for a long time there might be a reason such that it is a difficult proof and has been released multiple times until someone finally rejected it.

The Bookshare staff discussed it on the list a while back. I squeaked,
since I get most of my stuff from the older end of the list.
I saw some of those old books get approved, but I'm pretty sure others
were just deleted.
But there are still a few languishing, waiting for someone to rescue them.

I sincerely hope that old books that had been languishing on the list
weren't summarily deleted on a whim, that would make me very sad.

That is the figure I get too. I remember once before that it was that
low
and even fell below a hundred. That was when we had two jiffy proofers
who
were grabbing books from the checkout list and uploading them at a
rapid
fire pace, sometimes as quick as a couple of minutes. I was kind of
wondering if we have a jiffy proofer again and I thought about looking
at
the books awaiting approval list to see if any of them were uploaded as
soon
as they were checked out, but I didn't get around to it. It does occur
to
me
that we have gotten an influx of a lot of new volunteers lately and
that
may
be the explanation for the low number of books waiting for proofing.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Checkout List

My ISP made some upgrades, and we now have high-speed internet. So, I
decided to go to the checkout list and see if I could get the 2nd page
to
load when I have it set to 100. Well, I was shocked to see only 109
books
available in the checkout list. I don't remember the list ever being
below
275. Are there really just 109 books available to proof, or is my
computer
playing games with me?
