I really hate that because I think it messes up accuracy. I once had a problem with a file which suffered from an increasing page count according to Word. The way it was solved was to go into paragraph presentation and do some fiddling with the spacing setting or something. I have the email message and I can send it as an attachment if you like. We can see blank lines by using the arrow keys. It is very hard to explain. It could be that I shouldn't pay any attention to Word's page count, and just go by the page numbers in the scan, even if pages are added in Word.
