Jill, I talked to Paul, and he has had the same problem I am having, and he says nick is having it too occasionally, and there is no answer, or anyone that works anyway. Stephen blames it on virus programs and spy wear programs. Well if that's so, they should make adjustments for those. Anyway, yes they know about the problem big time.

Jim, Have you called Kurzweil tech support? They have always been able to walk me through my problem and solve it for me. Every time it has been something I did or didn't do as far as a setting or installation was concerned. And I am always impressed at the level of their patience. Are you folks who experience all these crashes and difficulties with k1000 doing the following:

1. keep your re-cycle bin empty
2. run disk clean to get rid of unwanted files including temporary ones
3. run disk defrag particularly after doing a lot of scanning

4. have only k1000 open and not other programs when working on a very long file.

You may very well be doing all this. Do you have a good deal of memory? Just a few ideas. Forgive me if all these are old hat.
