Whhen I was raising our boys there weren't many children's books that were
appealing to little boys. We used to have "book time" each night before
they went to bed. I would have been very grateful for such a wide selection
of children's lit. They were both sighted, and I used to pay an older girl
to come for story time so my boys could enjoy the same books their sighted
peers' parents were reading to their children.

Hi. Well, part of the explanation for so many books for kids is
simple. They are quick and easy to scan. The submitters get the same
amount of credit whether the book is 50 pages or 500. Also, they are
trying to appeal to educators and school districts.
