I had OmniPage Pro oh so many years ago, and liked it but never updated it, since I really didn't use it much, and now it's no longer compatible with my computer. This was version 6, and somewhere I think I have version 9. So I'm looking around for a cheap but good OCR program.

I'm currently using the Microsoft Document scanning that came with MS Office. It's not bad, but hoping to find something better and easier. I'm currently using an epson scanner/printer/fax but have been reading up on the OpticBook. That's on my list for sure!

BTW, I have to delete your link at the bottom, I send my emails out through Charter, and with that link, it labels it as spam and won't send it out.

I use OmniPage Pro 17. In the past I have also used versions 14 and 15. I've also used a variety of scanners, including a very old Memorex USB (no electricity) scanner which took a full 3 minutes to scan a page and return the light bar back to the beginning; a much nicer HP all in one scanner/printer/fax (ok it was MUCH NICER than the Memorex! faster too!) and a Lexmark all in one that I didn't like as well as the HP but got the job done.

Now I have the OpticBook and it's wonderful.

BTW, I scanned the I don't know, 600 page or so Lord Krishna's vegetarian cookbook on that old Memorex. You can imagine how long it took! I think I watched an entire season of the Sopranos while scanning that book.
