You should get a message telling you when the book you reported on is replaced. At least I do when I make quality reports.

Hi, sas a matter of fact, I did do a book quality report on this book I mentioned. I'm just warning anyone who downloads it. I don't know if my issue has been resolved or not so I'll have to take a look I guess. Regards, Kim Friedman. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Evan Reese Sent: Monday, December 05, 2011 9:23 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Best cookbooks How many does Bookshare have I would also encourage using that quality reporting. From my experience, those reports are taken seriously and the issues do get fixed. If you go to that link, there's a form to fill out to report the problem with the book and Bookshare staff will follow up. I'd encourage you to report problems like this that way so that the books can get fixed. The link is below the book information. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kim Friedman Sent: Monday, December 05, 2011 1:53 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Best cookbooks How many does Bookshare have Hi, you guys are making me hungry. I think Christopher Kimball has written The Cooking Bible and The Dessert Bible. Bookshare has Rose Levy Beranbaum's Pie and Pastry Bible, but I advise you that if you download it, there are no ingredients listed for any of the recipes, most likely due to the ingredients may be in the form of images which didn't translate to the text. Very frustrating. I like tomes, though Iknow it would really be yeoman service to get any of those books written about into the bookshare collection via submission and proofreading. I'd say kudos to anybody who tackled such projects. Yes, it seems like the books they are choosing in the Top 100 Cookbooks of the Last 25 Years categories for November and December, anyway are mostly real tomes. I don't know if I'd have the patience to scan and fix up the scan of a 600 or 700 page cookbook. I didn't find any of these books on Bookshare that are the December picks either. Here's that list in the category of baking. 1. Classic Home Desserts 2. Pie: 300 Tried-and-True Recipes for Delicious Homemade Pie 3. The Cake Book 4. Great Cookies: Secrets to Sensational Sweets 5. In the Sweet Kitchen: The Definitive Baker's Companion 6. Flour: Spectacular Recipes from Boston's Flour Bakery + Café 7. King Arthur Flour Whole Grain Baking: Delicious Recipes Using Nutritious Whole Grains Charlene, since you didn't have time to find the list of the General cooking books that were selected for November, I'll find those again too. 1. Martha Stewart's Cooking School: Lessons and Recipes for the Home Cook 2. The Essential New York Times Cookbook: Classic Recipes for a New Century 3. Real Cooking 4. Gourmet Today 5. Cook with Jamie: My Guide to Making You a Better Cook 6. Radically Simple: Brilliant Flavors with Breathtaking Ease 7. The New Best Recipe 8. How to Cook Everything: 2,000 Simple Recipes for Great Food 9. Ad Hoc at Home So, there are the titles for December and then backtracking to November. Sorry I didn't think to include authors. I was just interested in titles so I could search for them on Bookshare. I think these books are expensive and many of them are huge tomes of 400 or more pages up to over 1,000 pages, though some are in the 200- or 300-page range.. I can keep looking as each month roles around if anyone likes. It's interesting to see what each months picks are in each category. Debby At 02:22 AM 11/27/2011, Charlene Ota wroteI'd be willing to help out with scanning if there are cookbooks peopleare interested in, too. Admittedly, I didn't have the patience to try tofindthe list on that site, but I'd be happy to help out. I've noticed thatsome of the cookbooks that recently have come out are available on bookshare already from the publishers, too. You just have to look for them, they don't show up in the cookbook category. I wonder how bookstobe submitted by the publishers are selected. Someone mentioned the whole grain baking book from King Arthur recently, and that's one of those big books that would really be nice to get fromthe publisher because due to their size, they're not easy to scan andtalkabout time-consuming! (smile!) I have the 200th anniversary King Arthurbaking book and it's in pretty good shape to submit for proofreadingbut afriend is going to type up one page that was a picture of an old hand-written recipe. That book was a big three-ring binder so it wasn'thard to work with and it scanned pretty good, too. I just need to workoncleaning it up some more.
