I'm sorry, but reading all this is sort of depressing!
 
I enjoy my time volunteering for book share, and I don't like the idea of
being  replaced!  I also can't say that the quality of the books done by
machines, etc, is better then the ones done by the folks on this list or the
ones who don't happen to be on it!
 
that leads me to ask the question of what can those of us who volunteer
still do, with all the things that are being done now, what with publisher
quality books being submitted, books being bought and scanned in house, and
all the other things cited in the below posts?
 
I proof read when I have the time now, and really don't scan that many
books, unless I am already having to scan one for school.
