Hi, Lora. I agree with you. I don't like to guess. It's not our job to write
the books or fill in the blanks, and I feel like, if you have to do that,
you run the risk of putting in something that really wasn't there, and I
don't like the idea of doing that. If there's half a word missing and I can
tell by the other half, that's one thing, but there are a few books that
have made it into the collection that I've read so far with half a line or
more missing, and I don't like that. If ever I can, I hope to rescan those
books because I don't like to have to guess while I'm trying to read,
especially more than once per page and every page. That gets a bit old, and
that's something just a little more than minimum validating would have
picked up on. Take care.

I agree. I have two books out right now, and both, though they were
identified as being excellent scans, have lots of little tiny errors. I
hadn't really intended to read either book, but now I'm going through the
books page by page, and it takes time. There are parts where I'm either
going to have to guess, or go get the book and take a look. Guessing
doesn't seem right.

I don't know about others, but I work full-time, and so this process is
slowed down because it's usually only a little time I can dedicate on
weekends or in the evenings during the week.  I don't mind doing it;
Bookshare is a concept I love, and one that brings definite value to me,
personally and professionally. Nonetheless, neither book will likely be
done in the week that we're given.

If you took away the option of renewing a book to continue your review and
editing, you'd force people to either not take books that need some editing,
or you'd degrade the quality of the collection.

Just my two cents,

Lora
