Hi Scott!

I have a few suggestions from books that I have downloaded, scanned or proofread, one of which is upcoming.

Hannah by Gloria Whelan

The World At My Finger Tips by Karsten Ohnstad

When You Have A Visually Handicapped Child In Your Classroom: Suggestions For Teachers (second edition) by Iris Torres and Anne L. Corn

What Blind People Wish Sighted People Knew About Blindness! (Revised Edition) by Harry Martin

Carver by Ruth Yaffe Radin

The New Boy Is Blind by William E. Thomas

Crashing Through: A True Story Of Risk, Adventure, and the Man Who Dared to See by Robert Kurson

Seeing Beyond by Gail McWilliams

After This... An Inspirational Journey for All the Wrong Reasons by Marcus Engel

Ally's Busy Day: The Story Of A Service Dog by Maureen Pranghofer

Alandra's Lilacs by Tressa Bowers

A Cane In Her hand by Ada B. Litchfield

If We Could Hear The Grass Grow by Eleanor Craig

Slow Learner: Early Stories by Thomas Pynchon

Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman

Twink (formerly Touching) by John Neufeld

I included this one, because of it being written by a person with a disability.

Fanny Crosby: The Hymn Writer by Bernard Ruffin

An upcoming title

I have scanned one of Valerie's books she sent me and will soon be sending it back to her for her to proofread.

A Declaration of A Body of Love Poetry By Lateef H McLeod

Bookshare wants a list of recommended books from the collection that touch on the theme of disability.

On Facebook Marketing will run a serialized list (one book per day for 30 days.) We are open to everything from children to academic books; fiction or non-fiction; humorous or boringly serious.

Please post your suggestions here for all to see so that one person's ideas spark another's. I will cross-post this invitation to the general discussion list after volunteers have had a shot at it.

For example, author Katherine Schneider has recommended her memoir "To the Left of Inspiration: Adventures in Living with Disabilities" and her children's book "Your Treasure Hunt: Disabilities and Finding Your Gold" are in the Bookshare library already. I am partial to books on travel. I know there are relevant some sci-fi books. Maybe there are some Romance books or poetry anthologies too?

Looking forward to hearing your collective wisdom.
