Hey Tracy,
    Here's another quick thought. If you have a newer version of JAWS,
pushing the space bar will also put you in forms mode. If you aren't in
forms mode JAWS will tell you, forms mode on and if you are in forms mode
already you'll either type a space you can delete or toggle something that
you can press space bar to toggle back.
