The thing is, many people scan books that they themselves wouldn't read. They scan these books because other bookshare members request them. So, if someone wanted a book on physics, which is something I am totally uninterested in, I would scan it for them, if I could get it, but I wouldn't do much, if anything, in the way of clean-up. If someone else is requesting it, they will probably validate it, and they can clean it up, as they read it. I don't think it is fair for someone to send up a raw scan, even if that person says so up front, doing no work on it. I think this work should all be done with integrity and I don't think that is integrity. I guess that is because I have countless things I could put up that I won't until I've made sure they are scans I would like to give someone. And I can see not going through one with a fine toothed comb and saying so, but to not even read a single bit of it and send it up that way is just wrong ... and not to say that you've done that is just "wronger!" OK, I usually don't rant. Must be about time for me to go back to school. <Giggle> Cindy Lou--Think Pink To unsubscribe from this list send a blank Email to bksvol-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the subject line.
