Hi, Kaitlyn, and yes. If the submitter doesn't change the rating when
submitting the book, and the validator doesn't, either, then books could be
marked fair when they may not be. The one thing I could think of that would
remedy this problem is to not have any of the buttons checked by default and
make that one of the required things the submitter must do before uploading
the book, to let the submitter choose the rating for the book. Then, of
course, the validator could verify that, but then, there's a flip side to
everything, I guess. Someone could mark books excellent when they really
aren't. That would be frustrating, too! *smile* Take care.

Hello Gisela and all:)

While uploading a couple of books last night I noticed that the fair rating
is selected by default. I wonder if this is the reason there are so many
books with a fair rating?

I did get two books scanned and uploaded yesterday. Both are collections of
science fiction stories.
Unknown worlds, tales from beyond
A treasury of science fiction.

I should have one more which is scanned up in a bit.
The world treasury of science fiction.

These are all books that Lissi was kind enough to send to me to scan. All
three scanned in beautifully with a 9.5 plus recognition rating so should be
a fairly easy validation. Mostly what I am seeing in them are stray
characters.

patti,

Please, please, please, remember it's all very subjective. You simply do
your best and be willing to try the advice you are given. It does not mean
you will incorperae the advice, simply that you will try different things
until you find what combination works for you.

Gisela
