[birdky] snowbirds

The following are highlights from yesterday afternoon (2/18) birding in western 
Boone County and part of Gallatin County:
 
Mute Swan    6 opposite Rabbit Hash on the Ohio River
Northern Harrier    1 male at Steele's Bottom   (Gallatin Co.)
Herring Gull   10+ scattered along the Ohio River
Horned Lark   many flocks throughout the trip
American Pipit   1 along Big Bone Boat Dock Road
American Tree Sparrow   several small flocks including 3 birds at my feeder
Lapland Longspur   1 at Camargo Hunt Club, 1 along McVille Rd., and 1 along Ky 
338
Snow Bunting   19 along Bullittsville Rd., 2 at Aurora Ferry Rd., 4 along Ky 
20, 13 along
                      McVille Rd., 5 along Ky 338, and 5 at Steele's Bottom
Rusty Blackbird   10 in a flock of 50 Red-winged Blackbirds at East Bend
 
In addition to these sightings today (2/19) I saw the following:
 
Peregrine Falcon   1 at Meldahl Dam
Bald Eagle    1 immature at Meldahl Dam
American Pipit   3 at Meldahl Dam
Lapland Longspur  2 along Bullittsville Road  
Snow Bunting   5+ flyover at Meldahl Dam, and 60 birds at Aurora Ferry Road
 
I ran into David Roemer and Robert Dever at Meldahl Dam and will leave it to 
David to post the many waterbird highlights there.
